ASA Audit Grants

In 2023, ASA introduced a new grant to our Grants Program to include a $10,000 funding pool for Clinical Audit Grants. Building upon the program's existing success, the program now encompasses funding designated for clinical audit projects. Clinical Audit Grant projects aim to improve and implement best practices in ultrasound and inspire sonographers to assess and scrutinise the delivery of ultrasound services, and enhance patient outcomes.

We congratulate members Emma Perkins and Dr Kate Russo as the recipients of the 2023 Clinical Audit Grant. Each has been awarded $5,000 towards their respective projects, in partnership with Marsh Advantage Insurance.

Applications for the next round of ASA Grants will open in July 2024.

Ureteric jet angles as a predictor of vesico-ureteric reflux: a clinical audit in children

The aim of this clinical audit is to determine the correlation between ureteric jet angle measured from ultrasound images and the presence and grade of vesico-ureteric reflux determined from a micturating cysto-urethrogram in children.

Image performance and reproducibility of abdominal circumference measurements for quality assurance

The abdominal circumference measurement performed in obstetric ultrasound is a key measurement used to track the growth of a baby. This clinical audit will assess the quality of the image from which the measurement is made.
