Awards of Excellence
2021 Awards of Excellence nominations close 10 March
We can confirm the awards will be going ahead this year however, due to the unpredictability of the COVID situation, the ASA will not be hosting them as a face-to-face Awards Breakfast at the ASA2021 Brisbane Conference. Current venue social distancing restrictions would result in functions that would not do the awards justice.
Therefore Awards of Excellence recipients, along with the Pru Pratten Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award, and the induction of Fellows will now be announced at an ASA Awards Evening, on Saturday 29 May, 6.00–7.00 PM which will be on our virtual platform. Delegates attending face to face in Brisbane will be invited to a cocktail style function and the awards presentation will be livestreamed for all delegates who register for the virtual option of the ASA2021 Brisbane Conference.
To ensure all award recipients receive the recognition they deserve we will be encouraging those who are not in attendance at Brisbane to host watch parties with their colleagues as well as their family and friends. Further details will be coming soon with information about how delegates can win ASA hampers for this event.
ASA Awards of Excellence
The ASA Awards of Excellence are the perfect opportunity to shine a light on a sonographer who has made a difference over the past year.
It could be someone who has gone the extra mile in patient care, or is passionate about mentoring student sonographers. They could be the sonographer in your workplace who provides great team support or someone dedicated to volunteering.
Nominees don't need to be a household name. If anything, nominating someone who is less well-known will ensure their contribution to the sonography profession is recognised by all Australasian sonographers.
Up to 13 awards are bestowed each year, recognising the achievement of sonographers in the states and territories of Australia, and New Zealand. Excellence in research, tutoring, volunteering, and as the employer of the year is also recognised.
