Advanced MSK Month
In partnership with British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS), Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and Sonography Canada
This June, the ASA is proud to collaborate with BMUS, SDMS, and Sonography Canada to spotlight the important role of musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound in clinical practice. As a specialised imaging modality, MSK ultrasound offers real-time, high-resolution visualisation of soft tissue structures—including muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and joints—supporting accurate diagnoses and guiding effective treatment strategies.
MSK sonographers bring a unique blend of technical skill and deep anatomical and physiological knowledge to their work. Their ability to assess dynamic movement, identify subtle pathology, and adapt scanning techniques to complex presentations is what makes MSK ultrasound such a powerful diagnostic tool. This level of expertise is essential in delivering precise, patient-centred care.
Throughout the month, we’re sharing a curated collection of educational resources—ranging from journal articles and webinars to podcasts and interactive modules—designed to support your continued professional development and celebrate the advanced capabilities of MSK sonography.
