Storyboarding the Profession: Voices from the ASA Arena
Once again, the ASA Arena proved to be a huge highlight of the ASA2025 Melbourne conference, a space for open and honest dialogue on the most pressing issues facing the sonography profession. Designed to encourage reflection, storytelling and peer connection, the ASA Arena hosted a rotating series of sessions across the weekend, each centred on a key theme impacting sonographers today.
What sets the ASA Arena apart was its live storyboarding. As discussions unfold, a visual artist listened in and illustrated ideas, challenges and insights shared in real time. The result? A powerful visual record of each session that captured the voice of the profession in colour, humour and honesty. Each illustrated storyboard stands as a lasting visual summary of the conversation, not just what was said, but what was felt. Together, they reflect a profession that is collaborative, evolving and unafraid to tackle the hard questions, out loud and together. Check out the storyboards on the topics from 2025 below.
