Celebrating Australasian Sonographers Day 2025
This year, on Australasian Sonographers Day, sonographers across Australia and New Zealand came together to celebrate and recognise the important role they play in the healthcare system, and the difference they make in each patient’s journey. From workplace morning teas, to sharing moments of pride on social media, the day was filled with recognition, connection, and celebration of the profession.
Australasian Sonographers Day is celebrated on 27 October each year and is a special occasion dedicated to recognising the contributions of sonographers in healthcare. It’s an opportunity to highlight the expertise, skill, and compassion sonographers bring to patient care and to ensure the wider community understands the importance of their work.
Every Australasian Sonographers Day, the ASA asks our followers on social media to share what makes them proud to be a sonographer. This year, the ASA community shared their favourite thing about being a sonographer. Here is just a sample of what sonographers had to say:
