Supporting the Next Generation of Sonographers
The Emerging Presenters Showcase is an ASA initiative created to recognise and support the next generation of sonographers. It provides a platform for students and early career professionals across Australia and New Zealand to share their knowledge, insights and experiences through short video presentations. By highlighting fresh perspectives and emerging talent, the Showcase reflects ASA’s commitment to fostering professional growth and innovation in the sonography community.
Taking part in the Showcase offers more than just presentation experience. It’s an opportunity to gain exposure, connect with peers and professionals, and be recognised for your work. Submissions have previously grabbed the attention of industry experts, fellow sonographers and potential employers. Many past participants have used it to expand their networks, build confidence and strengthen their CVs with award-winning experience.
I benefited from the Emerging Presenters Showcase through self-initiated learning, independent research, and reflection on my scanning practice.

This year, students and early career sonographers are invited to submit a pre-recorded presentation, between 5 and 10 minutes on a topic of their choice. It could be a case study, a scanning technique, a research project or an idea from clinical practice. Prizes are awarded across both student and graduate streams.
This Year's Prizes
Thanks to the support of our sponsors, this year’s Emerging Presenters Showcase offers a wide range of prizes including Visa and David Jones gift cards, Flight Centre vouchers and Prezzee cards. Best overall qualified and student presentation will win the ultimate prize, a full complimentary registration to the ASA2026 Conference.
How to get involved
If you’ve been thinking about submitting, now’s the time! You don’t need a polished final video yet - just a strong idea and the drive to take part. With entries closing soon, this is your chance to stand out and be part of something that celebrates the next generation of sonographers. Submit your presentation for the 2025 Emerging Presenters Showcase by Monday 9 June. The Showcase will be released later this year, giving the sonography community a chance to support and celebrate new talent in the profession.
