FOLLOW the new Sonography Journal pages
We’re excited to share an important update about the Sonography journal, our profession’s leading Australasian publication for applied sonography practice, research, and professional development.
To strengthen its visibility, credibility, and long-term sustainability, the journal has transitioned from an internally promoted publication to a journal with its own communication and social media channels. While the journal itself remains unchanged, you’ll now be able to stay informed about all articles through new dedicated social media platforms.
This evolution brings several important benefits for our members and for the profession:
-
It broadens Sonography’s audience beyond ASA membership, helping attract more international contributors and readers.
-
It opens opportunities to build on the journal’s status and pursue partnerships with academic institutions globally, to bring our members the latest information about practice, research and professional development.
-
Creates confidence that academic content is not influenced by ASA organisatonal priorities.
A message from Sonography Editor-in-Chief | Dr Kerry Thoirs
A valuable resource with global reach
In our 2024 Member Survey, 90% of respondents were aware of the journal, and 78% had read it in the past year, making it one of our most valued professional resources. But the journal’s reputation does not stop there. It’s large and diverse readership shows that 30% of readers are based in Australia, 6% are in New Zealand and the remainder are international readers, with most based in the USA. Sonography already enjoys a strong reputation worldwide.
Each issue delivers high quality clinical insights, new research and education with plenty of images and videos that deepen knowledge and advance clinical practice across all areas of sonography.
Don’t miss an issue
We invite all members to follow the journal on its new social media channels LinkedIn and Facebook so you never miss an update, issue announcement or author insight.
