Four solid pointers for liver assessment
In the presentation and workshop Paula will look at the idea of liver screening in Chronic liver disease. The most important ideas and good ultrasound practice for Segmenting the Liver. We will touch on the principles of Shear wave elastography and provide pointers for good shear wave acquisitions whatever the unit you use. Portal hypertension and tips and tricks for finding abdominal varices will be explored. If time permits we can look at safely beginning fat quantification.

Acute abdomen presentations for ultrasound investigation
In this session we will cover Acute cholecystitis and bile duct dilemmas. We can then move along to the pressing question of all things “Pain below the umbilicus “ and give clear guide to the search for the appendix and the elusive question of possible ovarian torsion. This presentation will be aided by some real life cases. The following scanning workshop can cover any question the registrants want answered.
Session 3
Why am I scanning the Thyroid and what really matters?
For our last session let’s scan the neck, brush up on thyroid ideas with a look at TIRADS, but more importantly understand the most important features of Thyroid malignancy. Paula will introduce a simple guide to levels of the Neck that make this task achievable for all Sonographers.
