Open for comment | MRPBA Professional Capabilities
The Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) is consulting on updated Professional capabilities for medical radiation practice.
The Professional capabilities identify the minimum knowledge, skills and professional attributes needed for safe and competent practice as a diagnostic radiographer, radiation therapist or nuclear medicine practitioner in Australia. They are used by the MRPBA and the profession to assess and guide good, safe practice.
While sonographers are not yet regulated under the National Law, the professional capabilities do apply to sonographers who are also registered medical radiation practitioners – typically radiographers - who use ultrasound in their day-to-day practice.
Please contribute to the ASA submission by sharing your views with us at policy@sonographers.org.au by 20 May 2025.
